We sell fresh food, so read this knowing where we stand. But we'd rather give you the honest version than the marketing version — including the things kibble does well.

What kibble gets right

Kibble is cheap, lasts for months, needs no fridge, and quality brands are nutritionally complete on paper. For many households it's the practical choice, and a dog on good kibble is far better off than a dog on table scraps.

Where fresh food wins

• Processing. Kibble is extruded at high heat, which degrades some nutrients — synthetic vitamins are sprayed back on afterwards. Gently cooked fresh food keeps nutrients in their original form, the way they occur in real chicken, pumpkin and carrots.
• Moisture. Kibble is around 10% water; fresh food is closer to 70% — similar to what prey or home-cooked food would naturally contain. That matters enormously for cats (low thirst drive) and for kidney and urinary health in both species.
• Transparency. "Chicken meal" and "meat by-products" are categories, not ingredients. With fresh food you can see — literally, in the bowl — what your pet is eating.
• Digestibility. Fresh ingredients are generally absorbed more completely; the visible evidence is smaller, firmer stools within weeks.
• Palatability. Picky eating often isn't stubbornness — it's a verdict on the food. Aroma and texture of real food usually settle the argument.

Fresh food is not medicine, doesn't replace veterinary care, and won't extend any specific dog's life by a number we can promise. The cost question, honestly

Fresh food costs more than supermarket kibble — in Jordan as anywhere. A medium dog on a Mila's plan runs 50–70 JOD biweekly. Whether that's worth it is your call; our argument is simply that food is the one health input your pet receives every single day.

Can I mix fresh food with kibble?

Yes — a fresh "topper" over kibble is a common middle path and still adds moisture and real protein. Keep total daily calories in check.

Is fresh food safe? It's not sterilized like kibble.

Gentle cooking eliminates the main bacterial risks of raw feeding while preserving nutrients. Standard food hygiene applies: refrigerate, and use opened portions within days.

Is grain-free automatically better?

No. Grain-free kibble can still be ultra-processed. The question that matters is ingredient quality and processing, not just the absence of grain — our recipes simply don't need fillers of any kind.
